next stop conservator - yet another aimed search on the www and I selected a suitable conservator - not to far away - and to make progress in this interesting investigation the painting was delivered for a closer examination.

The conservator professionally advised on some of her initial findings as to the condition of the layer of paint (my comment was, we all get wrinkles). - Furthermore pointed out the faint traces of handwriting on the back of the canvas - and then we agreed it could be useful to decipher the full meaning of the text on the note at the bottom back side.

And finally the mystery of the numbers next to the signature of the painter "02-03-30" - the dilemma being if this represents the date of March 2nd, 1930 - we have a problem since the painter Gaetano Esposito left this world in the year of 1911 - thus leaving us in suspense for now.
